Junebug

No, I didn’t get another dog. I’m just pet-sitting one for the week. Junebug is one of Whitney’s projects. She’s from Salt Lake County Animal Services and got adopted twice during a superadoption event up there… then returned (twice) for being “unpredictable” and “needing to be an only dog.” All I have to say about that is, HA! I don’t think anything could be further from the truth. This dog is the most laid back cutie-pie ever. She even gets along just fine with my two (which is a hard feat considering Jemma thinks Haley is ALL HERS)! I think they get along so well because Haley and Jemma don’t really like to play with other dogs anymore (Haley used to, until Jemma came along), and Junebug doesn’t care about playing, so they all win. Well, now Haley has accepted her into the pack and tries so, so, soooo hard to play with her, but to no avail. Jemma isn’t sure anymore how she feels about the new dog. She cares less about this dog than any other, but she blasts out stares of confusion and jealousy whenever I let Junebug come up on the bed with us. Like, “HOW DARE YOU LET THAT MONGREL UP HERE!” Anyway, Whitney’s fostering this dog so she is ADOPTABLE if any of you out there are looking for an awesome yellow lab who is super sweet and mellow, great with cats, and doesn’t need a leash!
