the Kickass and Awesome wedding

Well folks, it’s official. Little Sarah is growing up. I done got married! Pim and I tied the knot about two and a half weeks ago at a campsite in the Uinta Mountains. I might be biased, but it was pretty much the best wedding ever. It was infinitely more beautiful than I ever could...

inching closer

My days in Kanab are numbered. I think officially it’s like 10. Unofficially, it’s feels lower because I’m going on a five-day backpack within those ten days. Anyway, I began moving stuff into our new house this past weekend, but I don’t have any photos to show for it. Just trust me that it is...

stuff I found on my camera

I never understood how people could fill up their memory cards and not download the photos off their camera. But now that I have a point and shoot, I do the exact same thing. Ha! Also, this point and shoot has made me incredibly lazy at photography. I never bring my SLRs on adventures anymore,...

personal > work

Long time readers of this blog might remember how personal it used to be. Not like darkest secrets personal, but more than random work photos. cactus love

The annual fall travel binge is in full swing right now. It always ends up happening at the same time every year, when work and personal travel mash together into a huge chunk of fall spent away from home. Shame too, as it’s such a beautiful time of year here. Luckily, it’s beautiful everywhere else...

salty dogs, ocean style

As excited as I was for our epic coastal roadtrip, there was one thing missing: my dogs. We were flying out there, and they would not be joining us. So, when I found out my coworker Mary was moving back to the Oregon coast a few days before we’d be there, I made plans to...

magic coast

I had never been to the Pacific Northwest before (unless you count as a baby, which I don’t), so I was thrilled when Pim and I made plans to road trip from San Francisco to Portland after his brother’s wedding. We hung around the bay for a few days, headed up north and camped in...

Nick and Kat

Let me start by saying that this is not a foray into wedding photography, and that I have absolutely no plan or desire to shoot more weddings (let’s leave that to the pros, okay?). But last weekend, Pim’s brother Nick got married. We journeyed out to California (and beyond, as you’ll see in upcoming posts)...
