Greetings internet surfer! I’m Sarah, I’m a photographer, and I love animals. Lucky for me, my job is the best of both worlds… I’m a staff photographer at Best Friends Animal Society, an awesome non-profit animal rescue organization (if you haven’t heard of us, go check us out!), where I help save animals, one photo at a time. We are dedicated to animal adoption, spaying and neutering, and bringing about a time when homeless, unwanted animals are no longer being destroyed in shelters. Every animal deserves a loving home, and we’re out to make sure they get the chance to find one!
Before coming to Best Friends, I worked as a photojournalist at newspapers and magazines across the country. It was actually at one of those papers that I was sent to Best Friends on assignment (when they took in 300 cats and dogs from Beirut), and I came back with a front page story about my incredible future coworkers! A year later, I was ready to get out of the news biz, Best Friends was hiring, and the rest is history! That was four years ago!
In my free time, I’m probably out climbing mountains or exploring canyons with my trusty sidekicks: a pointy-headed puppy dog from Ethiopia, a loyal (but sometimes bitchy) cattle dog, and a house-trained husband named Jim. Aside from animals and the outdoors, I love bright colors, used postage stamps, collecting quarters, and other assorted geekery. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah with two cats, a bird, and the three aforementioned hounds.
